Baking

Salted Caramel Brownies. Yes, I know, they sound mouthwateringly delicious.

It’s my first weekend where I have no plans. I can spend the two days catching up on sleep and binge watching Greys.

I don’t even like Greys Anatomy anymore, but I’ve committed to the 10 seasons so I will watch the entire 10 seasons. Only 20 episodes to go!

Right. Back to what is important here; baking and even more importantly, salted caramel brownies. In other words, heaven.

I shan’t bore you with the details of weigh out blah blah grams of blah blah and fold in the blah and mix together blah blah.  My good friend Jamie Oliver can do that for me, as it is his recipe I used.  Didn’t quite follow it exactly as I got a little carried away with dancing round my kitchen to my current obsession of What So Not and Toddla T. Who are, in my eyes, ideal to listen to when baking.

Firstly, I went a little off tangent when making the caramel.  I threw all the caramel ingredients into a pan and hoped for the best. It looked and tasted like caramel. 1 point to Poppy.

Time for a little break and a well deserved glass of Baileys. The answer to everything and a perfect drink to have whilst the caramel hardens in the fridge.

I’m unsure whether I can call my brownies ‘chocolate’ brownies as I left out 100g of chocolate. 1 point to Baileys. And spinning sugar is a lot harder than it looks. 1 point to Baileys.

Baileys 2: Poppy 1

I’m going with the fact that I have not baked anything since around July (I made graduation cupcakes that were adorable!) and not the Baileys that I drank throughout as to why the process did not run smoothly. I have yet to try them, however they do look pretty damn delicious if you ask me.

Go on, try one.
